LEARN A TRADE

Time to learn a new trade?

I was in the mall one day, when I came across a specialty store that had a rather interesting device. It was a robotic sculpting machine and what it did was take three angle pictures of you and then sculpt away, giving you your own base within five minutes. Well at first as I can say that I was fascinated, but then as a sculpter myself, I was horrified! This robot could do in five minutes what takes me weeks! It was the first time I felt like a dinasour on the brinsk of extinction, but then I realized that technology should never be something feared but rather embraced--for it is, afterall, nothing more than a tool.

Art programs of today are nothing more than the extention of ones hand and imagination. It's a "Matrix" of differences, that may seem scary at first, but are quite easy to master in a short time. I have dedicated this section in the interests of helping new artists beginning in this field. I myself, am definitely not the greatest artist in the world. I have had Paint Shop Pro 7 along with a lot of God given patience to give me any credence, not to mention the many people who have inspired me along the way-especially Louis Royo. So in this section I would like to help others with any tricks of the trade that I have learned over the years. I don't have too much added to this section yet, but it will grow-please give me time.

To begin with, Paint Shop Pro is probably the cheap "lay-man's" software. It's not up there with the more expensive programs such as Bryce or Poser. But then again if you're already into that then you won't learn much here. Psp7 is probably one of your most handy tools. It has a lot of tricks (much of which I am still learning). It is great for art enhancement, digital drawings, and photo enhancement. It allows me to do in a matter of minutes what use to take me days. Okay, let me stop sounding like a commercial.

Below, I have devised some tutorials. These are nothing grand, but I hope they can help "jump-start" you in the direction you are most interested. I know that these programs can seem monstrous at first, but trust me when I say that once you've crack them, they become quite easy and enjoyable. And believe it or not, you'll probably be sending me suggestions before you know it.

At any rate, I hope this section can help out a little,

Ted
